CHURCH GENERAL

Wholehearted Prayers for our church family / siblings in Christ
Ask our Father to enable and empower us to faithfully Cultivate Contagious Christlikeness in Community through practising life-giving Spiritual Rhythms and Habits…
And that we would all become intentional disciplemakers who make disciplemakers in obedience to Matthew 28:18-20, through our family spaces (see below).
God would establish a prayer-saturated lifestyle and culture!
- Starting with Sunday Hour of Power Prayer-Lunches on the first Sunday of each month.
- And in our weekly or fortnightly MCs, dGroups and Hope Groups.
- And our Prayer Gatherings.
- And in our private prayer closets or ‘thin places’.

CHURCH SERVANTS

Servant-Shepherds - William Tjoa (ENG), Daisy Li (PTH), Joshua Tsai (, Alex Cheng)
- Weekly prayer and decision-making meeting
- Vibrant, flourishing spiritual life and walk in the Spirit; wisdom and discernment.
- Faithful and effective shepherds.
Ministry Team Coordinators (MTC) - pray for the various ministries of our church (see below) and use the Deacons passages to pray for them

Secretary - Becca Dong, Mira Mei (interim)
- Pray for the transition as Becca takes maternity leave for at least 6 months.
- Pray for God to help form an Admin Team to support and help.
- Pray for a few others to help with Sunday Coordinating.
Treasurer - Daniel Yu
- Pray for a 2IC.
- Pray for God’s generous provision through our general offerings that they alone cover all our ministry operational expenses so that we can reserve 100% of building usage and manse rental income streams for property repairs, upgrades and expansion, as well as, missions and church planting.
- Planned building upgrades:
  - Upgrade to stackable interlocking chairs with better back support for seniors and trolleys. Retain some pews for walls in chapel and large and small halls and quiet room.
  - Replace large and small hall vinyl flooring.
  - Upstairs kitchenette cabinetry replacement and upgrade.
  - Repair or replace faulty chapel speakers and possibly amp. Upgrade wireless mics?
  - Reseal handicap walkway to stop leaks and concrete deterioration in Small Hall.
  - Replace rear projector with TV.
- Required Manse upgrades (deferred):
  - Renovate and expand back laundry and toilet into a larger contemporary combined bathroom and laundry.
  - Add an additional colorbond carport with automatic rolladoor like all other neighbours.
  - Strip wall papers that are starting to peel.

CHURCH MINISTRIES

Wider Community of Willoughby and its needs and challenges.
Broader Ministry Teams (BMT):
- Music Team - Karlon Tse MTC, Mira Mei, David Huo, Henry Yip; Andrew Gu, Diana Yu, Ginny Gu, Angela Xue, Alex So, Les Far
  - Thank God for the faithfulness and tremendous effort of the two music teams serving, and for Joshua playing the organ.
  - Pray for new songs and improvements on how the team delivers and directs our worship to God
  - Pray for more song leaders and musicians
- AV (audio-visual) - Tony Zheng MTC, Alvin Zhang, Edward Ong, Senan Fung, Lucian Li, Ronan Li, (Karlon Tse)
  - Thank God that AV has settled and stabilised thanks to the team’s efforts.
  - Pray for more AV servants to be trained and rostered to serve.
  - Pray for completion of setup.
  - Pray for documentation to be completed.
  - Pray for onboarding and training process for new servants.
- Hospitality and Mercy - Salvos, Power to Change - Peck Tan, Lay Huan Tjoa + Mum’s Hope Group
  - Thank God for all the mothers who contribute in many and various ways to our food ministries - including ad hoc ‘meals on wheels’ for the sick.
  - Pray for the coordination of Sunday Meet & Greet aka morning tea which has become popular time of fellowship.
  - Pray we can do more !&As of our teaching session during Meet & Greet.
  - Thank God for the various MCs willing to serve morning tea in their own special way.
  - Pray for Peck’s leadership and the team’s preparation of
    - Monthly Hour of Power Prayer lunches
    - Monthly Power to Change dinners
    - Combined Sunday Gathering lunches (Easter, Anniversary, Christmas)
- Teaching Team - William, [Alex,] Tony, Joshua, Alvin, Warwick, Karlon, Senan (?)
  - Thank God for His gift of a few in-house home-grown teachers/speakers of God’s Word and the willing guest speakers God provides like Matthew Meek, Jess Collins-Chee, Mark Baines, Daz Farrell, etc.
  - Pray for the Spirit’s guidance for relevant topics for our church family.
  - Pray that each Sunday we encounter God through the preaching of His Word; that the gospel of His kingdom is preached clearly; that the speaker speaks in demonstration of the Spirit’s power and not human wisdom or persuasion (1 Cor 2:4), so that the gospel of the kingdom comes to us not only in words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, deep conviction and the speaker’s way of life (1 Thess 1:5).
  - Pray that we can start having bi-monthly MC celebration Sundays where MCs and dGroups share what God is doing in and through them.
- Media & Communications - Mira Mei, Sabrina Tse
  - Pray for another servant to help Sabrina with graphic design
  - Pray for the design of:
    1. Tear drop banners for our ministries;
    2. Two long vertical banners for our church pillars to communicate our calling and DNA as a church in and for Chatswood and beyond.
  - Pray for the team to start being more proactive in sourcing and posting ‘good news’ and prayer points in our church family on our social media platforms.
  - Pray for MTCs to be more proactive and intentional in sharing ‘good news’ stories and prayer points via our social media platforms.
- Property, Maintenance, Security - Lee Lim
  - (See above)
  - Thank God VAC (Ventilation Air-Conditioning) Project is complete.
  - Thank God for Lee and David helping install new bollards in car parking space and replacing blown chapel lights. Pray for clear weather so they can re-seal the handicap walkway.
  - Pray for the continuing leaks in the small hall and the front entrance.
  - Pray for final setup of Quiet Room for babies, meetings and study space - pews/chairs, TV, foldable table(s).
  - Thank God for replacing the old chapel ventilationfan causing short circuit ASAP.
  - Thank God for Linda donating her paintings to our church chapel so we can visually reflect and meditate on God more.
- Library - Nithya Sam, Senan Fung
  - Pray that we can build the two more new shelves soon.
  - Pray that we all would avail ourselves of the library.
  - Pray for the cataloging of more books that have arrived.
- Ministry Implementation Team
  - Posting Guidelines on website
  - Proposed training on Sunday, one area of responsibility at a time.
- Communion Presidents
  - Pray for the Spirit’s leading, wisdom and revelation as the presidents prepare.
  - Pray that we sense God’s loving presence every time we gather around the table. Ask God that we may come with repentant and cleansed hearts.
  - Pray that the gospel is preached every time we participate in the Lord’s Supper.
  - Thank God that the BMT are serving in this vital area.
- Bible Readers
  - Thank God that every member can contribute to the serving and reading of Scripture.
  - Thank God that we take this role seriously and practice our reading and delivery beforehand.
  - Pray that we would be increasingly aware of God’s presence whenever we read or hear Scripture. Pray that God’s Word dwells richly in our hearts and that we always respond in repentance, faith and obedience.
- Welcoming
  - Pray that we embrace our Father’s hospitable and generous and welcoming heart to everyone who walks into our building.
  - Pray that all members meet and greet newcomers every Sunday whether rostered as welcomers or not.
  - Pray for God’s protection of his church in our building during meetings and that we all remain vigilant.

MANDARIN CONGREGATION - PTH

Daisy’s theological studies - Bachelor of Ministry to be completed by end of 2024.
Huge pastoral needs - pray for Daisy to carry burdens.
Outreach Ministries:
- PTH Choir on Wednesday mornings.
- Table Tennis on Friday evenings.
- Saturday 11 May evangelistic event - HK choir.
